2. Fluoxetine (HCl) is the prototype of antidepressant drug that selectively inhibits sertotonin reuptake. Escitalopram is an isomer of citalopram, an antidepressant that selectively inhibits reuptake of serotonin (5-HT) i.e belongs to SSRIs (selective serotonin release inhibitors).
