Description
1. Oxytocin Injection contains Oxytocin as a injectable, marketed by Amros Pharmaceuticals. Category: Obstetric (Oxytocic / Tocolytic).
2. Oxytocin is a naturally occuring nonapeptide hormone secreted by the posterior pituitary.
3. Used for: Duodenal ulcer, Induction of labour, Inevitable abortion, Labor augmentation, Lactation induction, Moderately emetognic chemotherapy or radiotherapy, Postpartum haemorrhage, Postpartuum haemorrhage.
4. Precautions: The induction of labour by means of oxytocin should be attempted only when strictly indicated for medical reasons rather than convenience.
