1. Prednicol 10ml Eye Drops contains Prednisolone and Prednisone + Chloramphenicol as a eye preparation, marketed by Remington Pharmaceutical Industries (Pvt) Ltd.. Category: Eye Corticosteroid + Antibiotic.
2. Prednisone is the most commonly-prescribed oral corticosteroid. Chloramphenicol was first isolated in 1947 from the cultures of Streptomyces venezuelae.
3. Used for: Adrenal insufficiency, Asthma, Blood malignancies, Connective tissue diseases, Liver diseases, Ocular diseases, Renal diseases, Respiratory disease, Suppression of inflammatory and allergic disorders; Acromegaly, Acute epiglottitis, Anaerobic infections, Bacterial infections, Blepharitis, Brain abscesses, Brucellosis, Cellulitis, Corneal ulcers, Intraocular infections, Iron deficiency anaemia, Keratoconjuctivitis sicca.
4. Precautions: Prednisolone should be used with caution in patients with active tuberculosis infection of respiratory tract or in untreated fungal, bacterial or systemic viral infections. Evaluate blood count after every 2 days during therapy of chloramphenicol.
